TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
My goal as a teacher is to help students become stronger clarinetists, thoughtful musicians, and confident, independent individuals. In lessons, I focus on building a solid technical foundation through posture, breathing, body awareness, articulation, legato, phrasing, and musical style, while also teaching students how to practice efficiently and evaluate their own progress.
I believe students learn best when they are guided, encouraged, and actively involved in the learning process. I want them to understand not only what to improve, but also how to work independently between lessons. Musical interpretation is equally important. I encourage students to develop their own ideas, make musical choices, and communicate those ideas with confidence.
Just as importantly, I value a healthy and supportive studio environment. I hope my students grow not only as clarinetists and musicians, but also as thoughtful, responsible, and supportive people who encourage and learn from one another.
